How To Create a Site with Sections and Categories
Before reading this guide, you should already be acquainted with the two different ways to organise your content, as reviewed in this guide. It will also help a great deal if you have read how to create a site with uncategorised articles. If you have already read both of these guides, then read on for a guide to creating a site with sections and categories!
The uncategorised method of building a site is great for a small site with up to ten pages or so, but when your site starts climbing over ten pages the uncategorised method quickly becomes unwieldy and inefficient. The categorised method of organising your site is the optimum for sites with more than a few articles of content.
In terms of the category hierarchy, Sections are higher than Categories. So when you organise your content, you will want to create Sections first, and then create Categories to fall within those Sections. Each of your articles will then belong to one of your Categories, and thus also belong to the corresponding Section. Bear this in mind as we go through the steps of creating a site organised with Sections and Categories.
